To celebrate the almost end of the most depressing month of the year, we thought we’d offer you the chance to win the following:

First prize: A 60 minute facial at Shine and three complimentary full-sized Aveda beauty products as recommended by our beauty therapist.

Four runner-up prizes: A hair consultation with three complimentary full-sized Aveda products to include a shampoo, conditioner and a styling product to suit you as recommended by our stylists.

All you have to do is become a follower of our blog (click on righthand ‘follow’ button), and share us on Facebook and Twitter (see buttons underneath this blog). Our clever widgets allow us to see just who has done so and on Saturday 2nd February we will draw names at random to win the above.

The new ‘Rachel’?

The Chop

The Chop

Occasionally a haircut will emerge that is so of the moment that it actually has its own name.  Model Karlie Kloss has just had a haircut so radical (cutting off about 7 inches of quite damaged hair) that Vogue has christened it ‘The Chop’.  Others have named it the ‘Karlie’ after the model herself.  Hairstylist Garren Defazio, the man responsible for ‘The Chop’ explains that this style is not a bob or a shag, but a one-length cut with a slight layer in the front.  He said ‘It’s long enough so she can gel it back, and it’s modern because it’s airy and rumpled.  Short hair is in.”  According to Vogue, hair in 2013 “is swinging, sexy – and refreshingly easy to wear”.  If Vogue says so, then who are we to argue?

In more hair news, we would like to draw attention to Michelle Obama’s new fringe.  Looking hot, First Lady!

What came first, the Chicken or the egg, or the egg in the egg?  Rosie the chicken laid a huge egg and when her owner, so impressed with its unusual size, filmed himself cracking it open, look what he found. http://youtu.be/wSHCBspYnAI

  1. A perfectly bite-sized piece of beauty, hair and world of the strange… One word: weird. Do you tweet this too Mrs Harries? I’d retweet always. X
